OSSA entries open 1st February 2022

The entries for the Highland Classic OSSA Edition 2022 will open on February 1st, 2022 and will be an online form.

When an entrants entry is confirmed, around 15th February, the entry fee will become payable shortly thereafter by bank transfer.

The entry limit for 2022 will be 200 competitors and the ‘First Come, First Entered’ method will continue.

Here are the full details:

2022 – Entries open:

Regulations and Entry forms will be available online on the Highland Classic website: idmcc.net and social media – on 00:01 Tuesday 1st February, 2022. All entries will be totally online applications. The club reserve the right to reject any entries without reason. No paper entries will be sent out and all entries must be sent electronically.

2022 – Entries close:

Entries will close on Thursday 14th April, 2022 or when the maximum of 200 entrants has been reached if sooner.

IMPORTANT:

An electronic acknowledgement will be issued, but this is NOT an entry confirmation. Successful entrants and reserve entrants will be notified by separate e-mail and a reserve list will be drawn up accordingly. Entry Fees will then be due and payable by Bank Transfer from successful entrants.

We will be retaining the ‘first come, first entered’ method of allocation and no priority can be given to any class or brand of motorcycle when accepting the entries. Now an established feature of the event, the IDMCC will retain the right to set aside and allocate or reserve spaces, where appropriate, to our Guests of Honour with an OSSA connection; Special Guest competitors or competitors entered by our Trial Partners. This will be at the discretion of the Inverness club committee and will be kept to a maximum of 40 entries. Guests of Honour; Special Guests and Trial Partner/Trade entries will be above the 160, so that this does not preclude bona fide entries. For the 2022 trial only will be the acceptance of genuine OSSA cantilever suspension machines in a separate class.

We can only suggest that competitors download and print off the regulations immediately on release and return the entry form promptly to avoid disappointment, given that the 2021 entry closed swiftly. We hope that this will be seen as a fair and equitable solution, albeit it cannot prevent over-subscription.

Highland Classic 2021 voted a great success

The 2021 Highland Classic ‘FANTIC MOTOR; Edition was voted a great success by the riders and officials who attended the event. All feedback was positive, and that included the new for 2021 ‘Superloos’!

The Guest of Honour, Steve Saunders was impressed with the event as he had never been to Alvie Estate before and he spent some time in conversation with the estate owner, The Laird, Jamie Williamson who took time out of running the busy sporting estate, to chat with some of the riders who enjoyed a weekend of sport on his land.

This was the first year that Alvie & Dalraddy Estates, Event Manager, Suzie Crerar has been involved and she certainly made every effort to accommodate the Inverness & District MCC make the event a resounding success.

71 Fantic machines took part which we think is a record for marque attendance.

A new results method was implemented and managed by Secretary of the Meeting, Mieke De Vos, former SSDT Secretary.

The club are already planning the 2022 Highland Classic – The OSSA Edition. Entries will be online on 1st February on this website.

So, the Highland Classic returned in 2021 after Covid and was a welcome return for trials enthusiasts.

A full set of the results will be published shortly.

Gearing UP for 2021

At Highland Classic Trial HQ, we are getting prepared for the event on 12/13th June and have everything in hand and all running to plan and schedule.

All the supplies are currently being delivered from our suppliers and our Trial Partners to ensure that the 2021 event is a success.

We are always grateful to our Trial Partners, which includes the Laird and staff of Alvie Estates, Jamie Williamson and also the Alvie Event Co-ordinator, Suzie Crerar.

Obviously we are all working under current Covid protocols and guidance, so things wont be exactly as previous years.

However, we intend to have an awards presentation on Sunday afternoon with a splendid podium which is supplied, erected and sponsored by HIGHLAND TEMPORARY WORKS of Inverness.

The new podium will be there all weekend at the Trial HQ on Alvie Estate.

We encourage riders to get their photo taken at the podium pre-trial as their own momento of what is shaping up to be a greta weekend of sport.

Here is hoping the weather will be kind to us!

Steve Saunders is 2021 Guest

The 2021 Highland Classic Two Day Trial – Fantic Edition will be held on 12/13 June at Alvie Estate.

The Guest of Honour has just been announced – STEVE SAUNDERS, 11 times British Trials Champion and 4 times winner of the SSDT.

Steve will ride his own 300 Fantic Twinshock at the Fantic Edition.

2022 The OSSA Edition

The 2022 Highland Classic will, like all trials since 2013, be a theme.

The theme for 2022 will complete the Spanish Trio of Bultaco (2013); Montesa (2018) with The OSSA Edition!

There will be a Guest of Honour with OSSA connections.

The organisers believe this will be a popular choice of theme, following a poll taken on facebook in 2020.

The dates for The OSSA Edition will be 11/12 June, 2022.
