2027 Guest of Honour

We now announce the 2027 Highland Classic Guest of Honour – Trials & Sidecar star, Mick Wilkinson, from Kettlewell in Yorkshire, was one of Britain’s most accomplished motorcycle trials competitors of his era.

A talented factory rider, he competed for manufacturers including James, Dalesman, Greeves and Ossa, represented Great Britain in the International Six Days Trial in the Trophy team on a Cheney Triumph, and earned an impressive eight Scott Trial spoons at the annual Yorkshire time and observation event. He was a regular top ten finisher in the Scottish Six Days Trial and won the 151-200cc class award in 1971 on the Greeves Pathfinder.

Wilkinson later turned his talents to sidecar trials, where he became a leading competitor and enjoyed considerable success. Among his rare achievements was winning the prestigious British Experts Trial in both the solo and sidecar classes.

His versatility, consistency and success across both disciplines earned Mick Wilkinson a respected place in British trials history. In recognition of his remarkable career and his association with the famous Greeves marque, Mick Wilkinson will be the Guest of Honour at the 2027 Highland Classic – Greeves Edition, celebrating one of the great names and personalities from the golden era of British trials.
